Abstract
Registered boats less than 26 feet in Florida have expanded from 449,995 in 1982 to 620,548 in 1993, a 38 percent increase. Boats of this size are likely to be trailered to boat ramps for access to water bodies in and around the state. This increased demand for boat ramps has been accompanied by many studies and surveys indicating a need for more public boat ramps and that existing ramps need improvement. This report covers boat ramp issues and boaters' willingness to pay for manatee protection. (106pp.)
